Ship Finder — Support

Compares public satellite radar detections with ship positions you record or import. A match is a candidate, not an identification. No account, ads, or analytics.

Contact

Use the contact form with Ship Finder in the subject. Messages reach Marshall Frith directly. If a detection or a match looks wrong, say where and when, and attach the export if you can.

Privacy in one line

No account, sign-in, ads, or analytics SDK. Your location is used only while the app is open and only when you tap Use my location, and it stays on your iPhone. Ship positions and exports stay on your iPhone unless you share them. Full policy: marshallfrith.com/shipfinder/privacy/.

Common notes

  • A detection with no ship position nearby is a data gap, not an identification.
  • Scene search and the radar image need an internet connection.
  • You can say no to location and still draw a box or pick a preset area by hand.
  • Ship positions and exports are stored on the iPhone. Deleting the App removes them.
