Bathymetry Maps
Bathymetry Maps
Draw an area on US water, pull NOAA ENC charted soundings, colour-ramp depths, and export KMZ. Not for navigation.
Bathymetry Maps is an iPhone app for pulling NOAA ENC charted soundings for an area you draw, previewing them colour-ramped by depth (feet, MLLW), and exporting a GIS-friendly KMZ via the share sheet.
This page is the App Store Support landing for Bathymetry Maps. It is the iOS edition of the desktop NOAA Sounding Puller / browser depth preview — ENC soundings only on iOS v1 (no BlueTopo, eHydro, or tide composite).
Not for navigation. Charted soundings are shoal-biased reference data. Do not steer by this app. Always use official charts and a proper navigation system underway.
How to use
- Open the map (Standard or Satellite / Hybrid).
- Draw an area of interest: a radius (center + radius) or a simple polygon (tap vertices, then done).
- Pull NOAA ENC soundings for that area (harbour and approach scales by default). The app shows sounding points colour-banded by depth, plus a count / shallowest summary when data is available.
- Export KMZ and send it with the share sheet (Google Earth, Files, email, etc.).
- Clear and start over when you want a new area.
No account and no API key. Internet is required to load map tiles and to query NOAA.
Privacy
Privacy Policy — no account, no ads, no analytics SDK. The app talks to NOAA ENC ArcGIS REST and Apple MapKit tiles only. Your area of interest is not sent to Marshall’s servers.
