TileMarshal for iPhone and iPad
Privacy Policy
TileMarshal collects nothing and sends nothing. It has no account, no analytics and no server.
There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDK, and no server behind the app. TileMarshal works with the phone in flight mode, because converting map files in the field is what it was built for.
What the app can reach
TileMarshal asks for no permissions. It does not use Location Services, the camera, the microphone, Photos, or Contacts.
It reads only the GeoTIFF you pick in the Files picker. iOS grants the app access to that one file, for as long as you have it open, and to nothing else.
The app makes no network requests. The Privacy Policy and Support links on its About screen open these web pages in Safari.
Your files stay on your device
Reading the GeoTIFF, estimating the output, cutting it into map tiles and writing the MBTiles file all happen inside the app on your iPhone or iPad. No file, and no part of a file, is uploaded or sent anywhere by the app.
The finished .mbtiles file is saved in the app's own Documents folder, which you can also reach in the Files app (On My iPhone or On My iPad › TileMarshal). Deleting TileMarshal removes those files with everything else the app stored. The app keeps no history, no settings profile, and no log of what you converted.
Location data inside your files
A GeoTIFF contains map coordinates. TileMarshal reads them on the device only to place the tiles correctly on the map, and writes the map bounds into the MBTiles file, as the format requires. They are not sent anywhere.
When you share a file
TileMarshal's job ends at the iOS share sheet. When you send a finished file to ATAK, iTAK, AirDrop, Files, Messages or any other app, that copy leaves TileMarshal, and how it is handled from then on is up to the app or service you chose. Nothing is sent automatically, and nothing is sent without you tapping Share.
Children
TileMarshal collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13. There are no accounts, no messaging, no advertising, and no content served from a network.
Your rights
Rights such as access, correction, deletion and portability apply to personal data a developer holds about you. TileMarshal never sends personal data to the developer, so there is nothing held on our side to access, correct, export or delete. The files on your device are yours: delete them in the Files app, or delete the app.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of TileMarshal adds a feature that uses the network, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the effective date at the top will change.
