No account, sign-in, ads, or analytics SDK. No MeshData servers. Location only when you Send location. We do not sell personal information.

MeshData (“the App”) is published by Marshall Tyler Frith. This policy explains what information the App uses.

Summary

  • No account, sign-in, ads, or analytics SDK.
  • The App does not phone home to MeshData servers.
  • Location is used only when you choose Send location.
  • Photos/files are used only when you pick them to send or save something you received.
  • We do not sell personal information.

Information the App uses

Bluetooth. The App connects to a nearby Meshtastic-compatible radio you choose. Radio traffic stays on your local mesh / device link under your control. We do not operate a MeshData cloud that receives that traffic.

Location. If you grant Location When In Use and tap Send location, the App reads a one-shot position to send over the mesh (cleartext, same as typical Meshtastic messaging). Location is not used for advertising or tracking.

Photos / files. If you grant Photos access, you may pick media or files to send, and save received files. Processing stays on device until you send over the mesh or share elsewhere.

Optional file passphrase. Files can use an optional passphrase (AES-256-GCM on device). The passphrase and encrypted bytes are not uploaded to MeshData servers.

Local network / Bonjour (development). Local-network strings exist for optional same-LAN host-radio tooling in development builds. Shipping mesh use is Bluetooth to your radio.

What we do not collect

  • No user accounts or profiles.
  • No advertising identifiers for ads.
  • No third-party analytics or crash SDKs in the App for tracking.
  • No MeshData backend that stores your location, inbox, or files.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
