Helps you see before you spend money from higher resolution commercial vendors. Many thanks to @SoarAtlas for the inspiration. Will be rolling out more improvements over the next week or two. MeasureGeo — Privacy Policy

No account, sign-in, ads, or analytics SDK. Location only when you tap Locate. We do not sell personal information.

MeasureGeo (“the App”) is published by Marshall Tyler Frith. This policy explains what information the App uses.

Summary

  • No account, sign-in, ads, or analytics SDK.
  • Location is used only when you tap Locate, to center the map.
  • Drawings, measurements, and exports stay on your device until you share them.
  • Map tiles and related services are contacted from your device; we do not operate a MeasureGeo backend that stores your location or drawings.
  • We do not sell personal information.

Information the App uses

Location. If you grant Location When In Use and tap Locate, the App may use your approximate or precise location to center the map. You can deny Location and still search by address or coordinate. Location is not used for advertising or tracking.

Network requests from your device. The App (or its embedded map) may contact third-party map tile, geocode, routing, and elevation services when you pan, search, or measure — for example Esri, OpenStreetMap / CycleOSM, OpenTopoMap, USGS, OSRM, and Open-Meteo. Those requests go from your device and typically include the current map view. We do not operate a backend that stores your location or drawings for MeasureGeo. Google and Bing tiles are not used.

Exports you choose. If you export KML, GeoJSON, GPX, shapefile, PNG, or share a file, that content stays under your control on your device and wherever you send it.

Local network (development only). A local-network / Bonjour string exists so a development build can optionally load a Vite dev server on your computer. The shipping App Store map is the copy inside the App; the development-server URL is empty by default.

No non-exempt encryption. Export compliance declares no non-exempt encryption (ITSAppUsesNonExemptEncryption is no).

What we do not collect

  • No user accounts or profiles.
  • No advertising identifiers for ads.
  • No third-party analytics or crash SDKs in the App for tracking.
  • No contacts, photos, camera, or microphone access for MeasureGeo.
  • No MeasureGeo backend that stores your location, drawings, or exports.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
