Lumaroo for iPad
Lumaroo for iPad: Privacy
Lumaroo has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Your settings stay on your iPad.
Location
Lumaroo asks for your iPad's approximate location only if you turn on a window that needs it. It uses it to pick the nearest NOAA tide station, to find your ZIP code for the UV forecast, and to choose satellite pictures of your area. Before anything is sent, the location is rounded so it is not precise. A rounded location goes to the U.S. Census Bureau (to find the ZIP code), the ZIP code goes to the U.S. EPA, map tile numbers for your area go to NASA, and a station number goes to NOAA. You can say no and type a board location instead.
Services the iPad contacts directly
NOAA, U.S. EPA, U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. Energy Information Administration, NASA (including JPL and GIBS), CelesTrak, The Space Devs, and Wikipedia/Wikimedia. Each one receives your iPad's internet address, as any website does. Lumaroo has no server of its own between your iPad and these services.
YouTube
Lumaroo uses YouTube API Services to show YouTube videos. The clips window is empty until you add a clip, and nothing loads from YouTube until you tap to play. Clips use YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com) in a web view that saves no cookies or website data after you close the app. When you play a clip, YouTube (Google) may collect information such as your iPad's internet address, video views and playback events, ad interactions, and temporary identifiers, to play the video, measure ads and prevent fraud. YouTube may show content and ads in the player. Lumaroo doesn't receive or store this information, and doesn't download or keep the video. YouTube's handling of it is covered by the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. By using YouTube features in Lumaroo you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms.
