Deer Awareness (“the App”) is published by Marshall Tyler Frith. This policy explains what information the App uses.

Summary

  • No account, sign-in, ads, or analytics SDK.
  • Location is used only when you allow it, to place the map and fetch wind/weather.
  • We do not sell personal information.

Information the App uses

Location. If you grant Location permission, the App may use your approximate or precise location to center the map and request wind/weather from Open-Meteo for that place. You can deny Location and still place yourself by address, MGRS, or lat/lon.

Network requests from your device. The App (or its embedded map page) may contact third-party services such as Open-Meteo (weather/wind), map tile providers, and geocoding services (for example OpenStreetMap Nominatim) when you search or refresh weather. Those requests go from your device; we do not operate a backend that stores your location for Deer Awareness.

Exports you choose. If you export KML or share a file, that content stays under your control on your device and wherever you send it.

What we do not collect

  • No user accounts or profiles.
  • No advertising identifiers for ads.
  • No third-party analytics or crash SDKs in the App for tracking.
  • No contact, photo, microphone, or camera access for Deer Awareness.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
