Helps you see before you spend money from higher resolution commercial vendors. Many thanks to @SoarAtlas for the inspiration. Will be rolling out more improvements over the next week or two. Sentinel-2 Clear Days — Privacy Policy

No account, sign-in, ads, or analytics SDK. Sentinel-2 imagery and place search are fetched from public services on your device. We do not sell personal information.

Sentinel-2 Clear Days (“the App”; App Store listing; engineering product name S2Inlay) is published by Marshall Tyler Frith. This policy explains what information the App uses.

Summary

  • No account, sign-in, ads, or analytics SDK.
  • Sentinel-2 Clear Days runs on your device. Marshall Frith does not operate a backend for the App that stores your areas, timelines, or films.
  • To find clear days, the App contacts public Sentinel-2 search and imagery hosts from your device. Place-name search uses OpenStreetMap Nominatim. The area map uses Apple MapKit (Apple Maps).
  • Optional share / save of an exported film uses the system share sheet; the photo library is only involved if you choose a Photos destination.
  • We do not sell personal information.

Information the App uses

Network requests from your device. When you scan or build a timeline, the App queries the public Element84 Earth Search STAC API (https://earth-search.aws.element84.com/v1) for the sentinel-2-l2a collection, then downloads Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFF tiles from the asset URLs that search returns (typically public AWS-hosted Sentinel-2 COGs). Place search may call Nominatim (https://nominatim.openstreetmap.org). MapKit may contact Apple Maps services to draw the basemap. Those requests go from your device and typically include the area or query you entered. We do not operate a backend that stores your location, areas, or imagery for Sentinel-2 Clear Days.

Areas, timelines, and exports on device. Saved areas, built stacks, settings (for example play speed), and films you write stay on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall. If you share an export, the file goes wherever you send it through the system share sheet.

Optional photo library via share sheet. The App presents a system share sheet for exported films. Saving to Photos is optional and only happens if you pick that destination; the App does not upload your photo library.

No non-exempt encryption. Shipping builds should declare no non-exempt encryption for export compliance (ITSAppUsesNonExemptEncryption = no). Confirm that key is present in the App Store build’s Info.plist before submit.

What we do not collect

  • No user accounts or profiles.
  • No advertising identifiers for ads.
  • No third-party analytics or crash SDKs in the App for tracking.
  • No continuous camera or microphone capture.
  • No Sentinel-2 Clear Days backend that stores your areas, timelines, films, or photo library.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
