Morse Enigma — Privacy Policy

No account, sign-in, ads, or analytics. The camera is used only to flash the torch. Sound and messages stay on the phone. We do not sell personal information.

Morse Enigma (“the App”) is published by Marshall Tyler Frith. This policy explains what information the App uses.

Summary

  • No account, sign-in, ads, or analytics SDK.
  • The camera is used only to flash the torch, and only when Camera light is on for a send or a replay.
  • The App does not take photos or video, and it does not use the microphone.
  • Sound, vibration, and the files you export stay on your iPhone unless you share them yourself from the system share sheet.
  • We do not sell personal information.

Information the App uses

Camera, torch only. If Camera light is on, the App asks for camera access so it can blink the flashlight in time with your Morse message. That permission drives the torch. The App does not open a camera preview, take a photo, record video, or read Morse from the camera. Nothing from the camera is saved or uploaded. If you deny access, Camera light turns off and you can still use sound and vibration. You can change this later in Settings, under Morse Enigma.

Sound. The App generates a 700 Hz tone on the phone and plays it. It does not use the microphone, and it does not record what the speaker plays.

Vibration. The same on and off pattern can play through the phone’s haptics. That stays on the device.

Text you type. Your message and the dit-dah pattern stay in the App while it is open. After a send, the App can write a log in its own documents folder on the phone. That log is not uploaded.

Files you export or open. Export can write a sound file, a timing file, or both, in the App’s documents folder, then open the iPhone share sheet. The App does not upload those files. A file leaves the phone only if you pick an action in that sheet. Open timing JSON reads a file you choose and plays it on the outputs you have switched on. That file is read on the phone.

What we do not collect

  • No user accounts or profiles.
  • No advertising identifiers and no tracking.
  • No third-party analytics or crash SDKs.
  • No location, contacts, photos, microphone, or Bluetooth access.
  • No network requests. The App does not contact a server. There is no Morse Enigma backend.
  • No sale or share of personal information.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
