Scope: Light recreational drop gear (streamers, soft markers). No weapons, no hazardous materials. Follow local airspace and hobby rules.

Materials

Steps (outline)

  1. Design a fail-safe latch: closed when unpowered / mid-throw; opens only on commanded PWM.
  2. Mount servo on a hardpoint under CG; keep payload well under aircraft limits.
  3. Map a momentary switch on the radio to the AUX channel; confirm travel on the bench with props off.
  4. Range-check release on the ground; then a low hover test over a clear area.
  5. Log channel endpoints in the build notes so the next person doesn’t reverse the servo.
